Here is today’s sustainable IT services and climate tech news, research and analysis -- written for technology partners, green IT service providers, CIOs, chief sustainability officers (CSOs) and climate accounting professionals.

A. Sustainable IT, Talent, Partnerships and Green Tech Alliances

1. Green Data Centers: Spending on green data center technology will reach $272.2 billion by 2032, up from $62.9 billion in 2023, according to SNS Insider. That's an anticipated 17.7% compound annual growth rate (CAGR), the researcher noted.

2. AI Energy Efficiency Tips: Companies can leverage these AI energy consumption tips to make AI applications more energy efficient, according to IBM CSO Christina Shim.

3. Microsoft Copilot Doubts: Microsoft Copilot, the company's AI chatbot technology, is facing product quality and customer value question marks, SeekingAlpha reported.

4. Consulting - Saudi Arabia: Sada Impact, a a consultancy specializing in social impact and sustainability, has launched operations in Saudi Arabia.

5. Partnership - Accounting and ESG Skills: KPMG in Singapore and the ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) have launched a training program that empowers accountants with ESG skills, the organizations said.

6. Partnership - Marine Technology and Carbon Removal Services: In a deal with Microsoft, Ebb Carbon ha vowed to remove up to 350,000 tonnes of CO2 over the next 10 years. The agreement involves Ebb Carbon’s Electrochemical Ocean Alkalinity Enhancement (OAE) – a method that increases the ocean’s natural ability to draw down and permanently store atmospheric CO2, the companies said.

7. Nuclear Energy - Three Mile Island: U.S. nuclear regulators kicked off a long-winding process to consider Constellation Energy's unprecedented plans to restart its retired Three Mile Island nuclear power plant, Reuters reported.

8. Nuclear Energy - Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Doubts: SMRs are not economically feasible, NextEra Energy CEO John Ketchum said during the energy company's earnings call.

9. Solar Energy for Data Centers: Sunrun is in talks to supply solar energy to power hungry data centers, Bloomberg reported.

10. Financial Services: Morgan Stanley has lowered its expectations for cutting emissions from its corporate lending portfolio as the world is moving too slowly to a greener economy, Reuters reported.

B. Sustainability M&A, Climate Tech Investments, Funding and Green IT Business Launches

1. Accelerator: Google has launched it first Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First MENA and Turkey. Several of the cohort members -- including Biliki.AI, EgrobotsForest Hero, FortyGuard, VAIS -- focus on climate tech and/or sustainability opportunities.

2. Investment - Sustainable Mobility: KKR plans to acquire 25% of Enilive, Eni’s sustainable mobility company. The deal's value: €2.94 billion (USD$3.2 billion) -- which values Enilive at $12.8 billion, ESG Today reported.

3. Funding - Maritime Services: Carbon Ridge has raised $9.5 million in a funding. The company develops a "low cost" modular carbon capture solution to help decarbonize the maritime shipping sector. Crosscut Ventures and Western Technology Investment (WTI) led the round. Additional participants included The Grantham Foundation, Berge Bulk, Rusheen Capital Management and Plug and Play Ventures. Katapult Ocean, Incite, Spitzer Industries and Canopy Generations Fund also participated in the round.

4. Funding - Storm Response Solutions: Urbint has raised $35 million, led by S2G Ventures. Urbint develops disaster response software for utilities and energy companies. Energize Capital, Blue Bear Capital, National Grid Partners, Zoma Capital and Climate Investment also participated in the round.

C. Regional and Global Sustainability Policies and News

1. Britain Climate Strategy: Britain's climate advisers, the Committee on Climate Change (CCC), has recommended in a letter to government that it should commit to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 81% by 2035, Reuters reported.

2. Pakistan: The Ministry of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination has opened a Green-Tech Hub (G-TH) in Islamabad, the Associated Press reported.
