Global distributor Arrow Electronics has updated ArrowSphere -- a cloud management platform -- with sustainability, cost optimization and security features.
On the sustainability front, a sustainability dashboard called GreenOps "is designed to help channel partners build solutions that make a minimal impact on the environment." The dashboard includes reporting capabilities and a global monitoring tool for channel partners and their customers to measure the carbon footprint of their cloud activities, Arrow said.
Here's a look at the dashboard:
In a prepared statement about the new capabilities, Shannon McWilliams, global vice president of ArrowSphere for Arrow’s enterprise computing solutions business, said: “As the market dynamics shift to everything-as-a-service, Arrow is launching new cloud assessment and management tools through a platform-driven experience on ArrowSphere to help channel partners scale XaaS in their customer accounts. Our roadmap for ArrowSphere will continue to support our channel partners through business transformations, including economic, environmental, and security changes.”
Arrow did not say whether the sustainability dashboard was home-grown or based on third-party carbon accounting software. We've reached out to the distributor for additional context.
Arrow Electronics partners with roughly 210,000 technology manufacturers and service providers. The company, based in Centennial, Colorado, had 2022 sales of $37 billion. In the MSP software market, Arrow has been working with ConnectWise since November 2022 or so.
