1. Partnership - Google Data Centers: Google, PacificLight Energy (PLE) and Rexus Bioenergy (RExus) have entered into a 10-year collaboration. Specifically, PacificLight will route renewable energy from RExus to Google data centers in Singapore.
2. Aerospace and Aviation Setback: Air New Zealand abandoned a 2030 emissions reduction target, Reuters reported, citing delivery delays of fuel-efficient aircraft and high green fuel prices. The move reinforces the difficulty aviation is having meeting decarbonization goals, the report said.
3. Hydrogen Projects: BPÂ wants to construct five to 10 low-carbon hydrogen projects this decade, Reuters reported, in order to produce clean fuels and reduce greenhouse emissions, CEO Murray Auchincloss said.
4. Solar Bankruptcy: More Chinese solar manufacturers are falling into restructuring or bankruptcy, Bloomberg reported, with a deepening oversupply and fierce price wars causing massive financial losses and threatening many smaller players’ survival. The latest bankruptcy filling involves a subsidiary of Zhejiang Akcome New Energy Technology Co., the report said.

1. Funding - Sustainability Reporting Software: Osapiens has raised $120 million in Series B funding. Goldman Sachs Alternatives led the round. Armira Growth also remains an investor in the business. Osapiens's cloud-based software helps customers to align with such regulations as the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the European Union Deforestation-free Regulation (EUDR), and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). The company, backed by roughly 300 employees, supports more than 1,300 customers worldwide. Osapiens customer base grew more than 470% in 2023 vs. 2022, though actual revenue dollar figures were not disclosed. Also, a company valuation was not disclosed.

1. Australia - Climate Policy Concerns: Australia’s plans to introduce stringent rules on climate disclosures are driving up concerns among businesses about compliance in one of the world’s biggest per-capita emitters.
2. South America - Climate Change Opportunities? US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen traveled to the mouth of the Amazon River, pitching the idea that fighting climate change would bolster economic growth in the region and across the globe, Bloomberg reported.
3. Germany - Solar Power Generation: Germany’s expanding array of solar panels set a new generation record as renewables take a larger share of power output from more expensive fossil fuels, Bloomberg reported.
4. India vs. European Union - Carbon Taxes: India has rejected a European Union proposal to levy higher taxes on its carbon-producing industries, Reuters reported.
