A. Sustainable Technology, Talent, Partnerships and Alliances

1. Corporate Sustainability Reports Database: Our database tracking corporate sustainability reports and associated net-zero goals GHG emissions goals now spans 207 companies and organizations. Today's additions include Alcoa, Baxter, BlackBerry, BorgWarner, and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC).

2. Chief Sustainability Officers Database: Our database of chief sustainability officers now spans 286 CSOs. Today's additions include Neelam Sandhu (BlackBerry) and Charissa Jaganath (Logicalis).

3. Consumer Products and Sustainability: More than 85% outdoor power equipment (push lawn mowers and handheld outdoor equipment like leaf blowers and trimmers) will run on rechargeable battery technology instead of gas by the end of 2028, according to The Home Depot sales estimates.

4. Residential Batteries: California startup Lunar Energy Inc. has launched a home power storage system with Sunrun Inc. as its first installer. The move is a "bid to enter the residential battery market dominated by Tesla," Bloomberg reported.

B. Sustainability M&A, Investments and Funding

1. M&A - Private Equity and HVAC Software:  Private equity firm Bernhard Capital Partners is acquiring HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) software specialist Optimum Energy. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Optimum's software optimizes energy consumption of HVAC systems to deliver significant electricity and water savings while reducing carbon emissions, the buyer said.
