1. Data Center Power Warning: DigitalBridge CEO Marc Ganzi has warned that data centers will run out of power in the next two years, Data Center Dynamics reported.
2. Partnership - Real Estate Software & Managed Services: LeaseAccelerator and Uniqus Consultech are partnering to blend consulting, managed services with lease management software. Customers run LeaseAccelerator to manage and automate 900,000 real estate and equipment leases valued at $250 billion across 2 million assets in 142 countries. The software also allows customers to manage and reduce real estate carbon emissions.
3. Carbon Accounting Software: The Salesforce Summer 2024 software release will include multiple Net Zero Cloud feature updates -- including an ESG Report Accuracy Assessment capability.
4. Research: Keep an eye on GreenOps -- the practice of minimizing a cloud environment’s carbon footprint through the efficient use of cloud resources, according to Forrester Research.
5. Leadership - Management Consulting: Kearney has promoted Richard Forrest to chair of its European business. He previously led Kearney’s global sustainability practice and energy industry vertical. We're checking to see if that sustainability role has shifted to another executive.
6. Financial Services Layoffs: Barclays has cut some employees from a team of more than 100 bankers focused on energy transition, Bloomberg reported. The cuts, which are part of broader job cuts at the company, included staffers with expertise in climate technologies, such as carbon capture and hydrogen, the report said.
