Sustainability Consulting M&A: Accenture Acquires Green Domus of Brazil

Global IT consulting firm Accenture plans to acquire sustainability consulting firm Green Domus Desenvolvimento Sustentável LTDA of Brazil. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Green Domus, founded in 2005, is based in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The company had 34 employees listed on LinkedIn as of May 29, 2023. Green Domus helps customers with carbon measurement, decarbonization and net zero transition strategies. Once the deal is completed, it sounds like the Green Domus business will tuck into Accenture's Sustainability Services team.

Accenture, based in Dublin, Ireland, has roughly 740,000 employees worldwide. The company is one of the world's largest business and technology companies worldwide.

Accenture -- like many of its rivals -- has been acquiring sustainability consultancies worldwide. Previous Accenture deals include:

• Akzente in Germany;
• Avieco in the United Kingdom;
• Carbon Intelligence in the United Kingdom;
• Greenfish in Brussels;
• Zestgroup in the Netherlands.

Accenture Buys Green Domus: Executive Perspectives

In a prepared statement about the Green Domus deal, Matthew Govier (pictured, top of page), Latin America Sustainability Services lead for Accenture, said: “Green Domus’ approach to measuring carbon emissions data and Accenture’s suite of advanced sustainability services, such as our net zero transition solutions, will support our clients in building resilient futures. These services will continue to transform industries and build a path forward for unlocking growth and adopting more sustainable business models.”

Added Felipe Bottini, CEO of Green Domus: “Accenture’s scale and focus on sustainability will be critical to helping our clients address the disruption affecting our communities and planet. Businesses are anticipating the impacts of this disruption along with increased regulatory compliance. By joining Accenture, we will use the latest technologies to collaboratively accelerate our ability to embed sustainability into long-lasting solutions that address global challenges such as decarbonization.”

Bottini's biography lists a Masters Degree in Sustainability Studies (Harvard), Degree Level Certificate in Environmental Policy and International Development (Harvard), and Bachelor in Economic Sciences (University of São Paulo - USP).
