Numerous sustainability, green IT and renewable energy conferences are scheduled for August 2024, according to our Global Sustainability Conference Calendar.
The key question: Where should technology partners, chief sustainability officers (CSOs), climate tech professionals, green IT service providers, and ESG investors potentially focus their attention and travel budgets? Here are four sustainability-related conferences and in-person events to note for August 2024. We've sorted them by date:
1. XeroCon Nashville 2024 (August 14-15, Nashville, Tennessee): The event is designed for "accounting and bookkeeping leaders from the United States, Canada and beyond." Take a closer look, and we suspect you will hear discussions about accountants becoming carbon accountants. Xero develops accounting software for small business. The company focuses heavily on small business sustainability.
2. World ESG Summit Dubai (August 20-21, Dubai, UAE): According to conference organizers: "This two day summit will unite leading industry professionals, investors, and experts in Dubai to explore the most effective methods for integrating ESG principles into business practices."
3. Tennessee Sustainability Conference 2024 (August 20-23, Gatlinburg, Tennessee): The annual conference is a partnership between three organizations. The Tennessee Recycling Coalition, Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Tennessee Environmental Conference.
4. VMware Explore 2024Â (August 26 - 29, Las Vegas, Nevada): We concede. This item may be a bit of stretch. This is mainly a VMware customer and partner conference. And most attendees will likely want to hear how new owner Broadcom plans to manage VMware into 2025 and beyond. Still, the event also focuses on some sustainability themes. And prior to the Broadcom deal, VMware had been developing multiple sustainable IT management tools. Side note: This event used to be called VMworld.
